We are seeking an experienced Pathology Supervisor with a current Histotechnician HT(ASCP) certification to oversee the operations of our pathology and histology services at our office in Waco TX. The supervisor will be responsible for daily workflow, staff leadership, and ensuring the delivery of accurate, timely, and compliant laboratory services. This position requires both strong technical skills and proven supervisory experience, with a focus on maintaining high standards of quality and patient care. Must be able to work effectively in a team environment, have excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills, and be able to manage multiple priorities while ensuring accuracy and efficiency.

The supervisor will be responsible for daily workflow, staff leadership, and ensuring the delivery of accurate, timely, and compliant laboratory services. This position requires both strong technical skills and proven supervisory experience, with a focus on maintaining high standards of quality and patient care. Responsibilities:
- Supervise pathology and histology staff, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluation.
- Perform and oversee histology duties, including: Specimen processing, Embedding and Cutting (microtomy), Special staining procedure, Accessioning, Grossing
- Ensure accuracy and efficiency in laboratory testing and reporting.
- Maintain compliance with CAP, CLIA, OSHA, and other regulatory standards.
- Implement and monitor quality assurance and quality control programs.
- Monitor inventory levels, including supplies, equipment, and reagents; coordinate orders and ensure resource availability.
- Investigate and resolve technical or operational issues in collaboration with staff and leadership.
- Manage equipment maintenance.
- Develop, implement, and update standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to facilitate patient care through effective communication of laboratory results.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pathology to support diagnostic processes.
- Conduct regular assessments of laboratory techniques and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Degree in Medical Technology, Biological Sciences, or related field required.
- Current Histotechnician HT(ASCP) certification required.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in pathology/histology operations, with at least 1 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong technical expertise in tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, staining, and accessioning.
- Knowledge of laboratory regulations, protocols, and procedures.
- In-depth knowledge of accreditation standards (CAP, CLIA, OSHA).
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and quality within the pathology environment.
