Physician Assistant OR Nurse Practitioner Silver Spring MD
We are looking for a Physician Assistant OR Nurse Practitioner to join our urgent care center group full time in Silver Spring MD. You will find a supportive and welcoming team to work alongside you within our welcoming and dependable Urgent Care Center. The incoming Physician Assistant OR Nurse Practitioner will be required to see and treat a wide variety of health care issues in patients of all ages in our urgent care center.

Duties:
  • Provide direct care to patients of the clinic  (Office/urgent care visits and acute care visits)
  • Evaluates and treats common acute conditions, illnesses, or minor trauma
  • Performs in-office minor procedures (small laceration repairs, joint splinting, closed reduction of small joints, wound care, I&D, joint/trigger point injections, Admin IM antibiotics/steroids, and local analgesics)
  • Orders and reviews diagnostic tests, X-rays, labs, and bloodwork (UA, Strep, EKG, Flu, Drug screen, Urine Pregnancy)
  • Consistently and accurately documents all calls, treatments, medications, etc. in patient chart
  • Supervision of medical assistants
  • Instructs and counsels patients regarding diagnosis and follow up steps
  • Responds to all patient questions
  • Collaboration with the physicians, other advanced practice providers, and support staff for comprehensive care
Requirements:
  • Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant OR Nurse Practitioner program
  • Must be comfortable/able to see patients great than 1 years old
  • Maryland license, DEA & CDS
  • At least 1 year experience in urgent care or ER setting (will consider certain primary care settings) Competency with minor procedures such as laceration repair and incision/drainage required
  • Spanish speaking ideal but not required
  • Must be willing to work weekends as needed
Schedule:
  • Full time (4 shifts per week)
Compensation (range):
  • $60-$75/hr (DOE)
