We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Physician Assistant (PA-C) or Nurse Practitioner (APRN) to join our medical team full-time in Tampa, Florida. This position involves inpatient rounding and pain consult coverage for our pain management census. The provider will work both independently and collaboratively with physicians and hospital staff to manage patients' acute pain needs.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three (3) years of acute care inpatient experience and be comfortable working in a fast-paced hospital environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform rounding on inpatient pain management consults.
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, evaluations, and documentation.
- Manage and adjust pain control regimens under the guidance of the attending physician.
- Respond to consult requests, follow-ups, and urgent pain-related issues.
- Collaborate with hospital staff, nursing teams, and other specialties to coordinate patient care.
- Maintain detailed and accurate medical records within the EMR.
- Ensure timely communication and hand-off reporting between provider teams.
- Order appropriate diagnostic tests and accurately interpret results.
- Order pain management interventions independently after completion of training.
- Prepare prescription orders for controlled and non-controlled medications.
- Communicate and coordinate care with patients, families, and interdisciplinary medical teams.
- Triage patient, facility, and pharmacy telephone calls and communications.
- Perform accurate and timely medical record documentation.
- Serve as a clinical resource and expert consultant to other medical teams.
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) program.
- Active and unrestricted Florida APRN or PA-C license.
- DEA license with prescriptive authority (or eligibility).
- Minimum of three (3) years of acute care inpatient experience required.
- Experience in hospital medicine, internal medicine, critical care, pain management, or related acute care settings preferred.
- Strong clinical decision-making skills and ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.

- $150,000 – $170,000 annually, depending on experience
