Dental Assistant West Chester, PA We are looking for an enthusiastic Dental Assistant to join our practice full time in West Chester, PA. This position requires the ability to work well with the public as well as be a part of a dynamic team. Ideally, the incoming dental assistant has good hand-eye coordination, can multitask, has a sense of professionalism, is accurate and detail oriented, a positive attitude and a team player. We will train the right candidate if needed but we prefer the dental assistant have several years of experience as a chairside dental assistant and be well-versed in the Dentrix and Dexis dental software programs. We will maintain a respect for each other and for every individual. Duties:
Assist the dentist, or any team member, in completing his or her tasks in a timely and comprehensive manner.
Greet patients, review today’s procedure and prepare them for their visit
Assist the dentist in taking any necessary radiographic images and photos
Assist the dentist in restorative, crown and bridge and removable denture procedures.
Update and note any changes on the patient’s Medical History
Make certain that our patients have a comfortable and stress-free visit
Help patients communicate any concerns or questions to the hygienist or dentist
Assist in the responsibility of charting and note-taking in the patient’s record which includes any conversations and /or patient concerns
Set-up and break-down of the treatment rooms
Help ensure that treatment occurs in a sterile or surgically clean environment
Assist with equipment maintenance to ensure safety for all team members and our patients.
Educate the patient about their oral health, preventive therapy, restorative procedures and cosmetic services.
Willingness to participate in advanced education including x-ray certification, CPR classes and training in OSHA standards
Requirements:
Experience as a chairside dental assistant preferred
Dentrix and Dexis dental software programs knowledge preferred
Schedule:
Full time with potential weekend availability (1-2 per month)
Salary:
$20+/hr to start
